Microculture
From SaschaWiki
In the Public Relations theory of Total Horizontal Integration (THI), a microculture is a relatively small group of humans who organise themselves in a way which differs somewhat from mainstream human society. THI theory says that all humans belong to at least one microculture, and that satisfying the demands of that microculture is the key to maintaining social order.
Microcultures are often grouped into subcultures although this term is only informally used in THI.
A typical microculture is a single department within a single organisation. Microcultures also include fans of a particular holoshow, practitioners of a particular sport, or users of a particular brand of software.
Microculture study is the field of understanding and describing microcultures in sufficient detail. Microculture adaptation is the field of satisfying the demands of an existing microculture. Microculture engineering is the field of creating or altering microcultures.
