Hide nothing, obscure everything
From SaschaWiki
In Public Relations, Hide nothing, obscure everything refers to a methodoloy for concealing undesirable information. Based on the observation that humans respond primarily to interest rather than truth or falsity, intentionally concealing something is considered dangerous. Entire microcultures have developed around rooting out missing or hidden information. However, humans can be easily distracted simply by providing them with something that interests them more. Therefore, the best way to hide something is to put it in the public eye, and so use fonts and imagery within the presentation that defer attention away from it, whilst at the same time providing something more interesting to look at. The long political tradition of announcing something dramatic (such as a declaration of war) on the same day some damaging news was going to be presented in order to shout it down is an early example of this principle.
