Dialective polymers, also known as "artificial muscles" are the fundamental technology behind the bionic human augmentation Artificial Muscle Replacement and the motive possibility of powered armour.
Dialective is the nom for "dielectric electroactive" which refers to a polymer which contracts when a very large voltage is applied to it.
The sheathed muscle-like masses of polymer used as actuators in augmentations and exoskeletons are known as dialective bundles.
"Dialective" is a trademark owned by General Dynamics.
