Cyborg

Cyborg is the archaic adopted nom for "cybernetic organism", a slightly misleading term which refers to a creature which is partially biological and partially mechanical.

The most common use of cyborg is to refer to humans who have been implanted with mecha-augmentations. The conventional definition is that for a being to be a cyborg, it must have begun as a human. Androids with biological implants or additions (such as skin) are not normally considered cyborgs. In the case of Crisis Agents who have undergone Total System Replacement, the line is very blurry, but the partial brain fragments that remain after the process and their human origin place them on the cyborg side of the line.

The process of becoming a cyborg (for example, being implanted with mecha-augmentations) is called cyborgisation.
